Arcane Ledger is a household budget app that answers one question first: how much can you spend right now after bills, goals, and a cushion you choose. Bank linking is optional. Couples share an Ours ledger.

What leftover (safe-to-spend) means
Leftover is not “what’s in checking.” It is what’s left after the app reserves upcoming bills, savings goals, and a safety buffer. That number is the homepage. If you can say it out loud, you are above water.
Do I have to connect my bank?
No. Mandatory bank sync is the number-one reason people quit finance apps. Arcane Ledger works with manual entry, CSV, and OFX/QFX import. Connecting a bank through Plaid is optional convenience — never the product.
Households
Invite your person with a 6-character code. Personal transactions stay yours. Ours is the kitchen table: either of you can add a spend or a bill. Shared bills reserve leftover on both sides so you do not both spend the rent money.
What is included
- Safe-to-spend leftover, forecast, and “Can I afford this?”
- Transactions, budgets, bills, and goals
- Subscription detection and cancel instructions
- Household invite and shared Ours entries
- Optional bank connection and exports (CSV / JSON)
Paid rooms (Steward AI, Family/kids, business P&L, credit/debt/net worth/crypto) sit behind a plan. They are extras, not the lock on the front door.
FAQ
Is this another YNAB or Mint?
No. YNAB is a method. Mint was a dashboard that died. Arcane Ledger is leftover-first: one number, optional bank, household books both people can write.
Is my data sold?
We do not sell your financial data. See the Privacy Policy for what is collected (account, optional bank via Plaid, optional analytics). You can export or request deletion.
Is there an iPhone app?
The web app works on iPhone today (Add to Home Screen). A native beta waitlist is in the product. Android has a Capacitor shell.
Does it cancel subscriptions for me?
No. It finds recurring charges and shows how to cancel. There is no human concierge. That is intentional.
